The origins of Hill Country Dairies began in the late 1970's. As a distributor of mostly non dairy products, we served various restaurants and institutional facilities. Over the next 20 years our product line grew to include a few dairy items but it was not until the 1990's that new ownership brought on an expansion in products and customers. Our product offerings expanded to include various brands of cheese, ice cream and cultured products. We even created our own Hill Country Dairies' brand of ice cream.
During the 1990's Hill Country Dairies also saw its geographical footprint expand throughout Texas. This expansion came by the acquisition of other distributors in various locations as well as strategic expansion into new territories. Today our company has grown to cover the Gulf Coast from Baytown to Brownsville and north to Dallas.
Throughout the expansion our goal has always been to sell quality products and provide a level of service second to none. It is through this commitment to service that we have developed into a trusted provider of milk to many restaurants and schools. Our commitment to service in particular has driven our success with many school districts outside of the major metropolitan areas. The large service area and distances involved with these schools present a unique set of challenges that Hill Country Dairies is determined to overcome. With a mix of refrigerated, frozen and combination trucks we are able to efficiently structure our routes to best serve the needs of these schools and all our customers.
